Downtown From Behind

We ran across this last night and couldn't wait to make a post about it.
Downtown From Behind is a projects that work to capture New Yorkers riding their bikes from behind, ranging from entrepreneurs, stylists to performers. The goal is to photograph someone on every street south of 14th, and turn it into a multimedia project.

By the end of the project, they will have a map of not only New York's streets, but also of the people who live within them.

The concept is an environmental portrait for each street and its subject. The goal to highlight a unique set of individuals who have had an impact, previously or currently on downtown New York City, making downtown what it is today.

Subjects photographed to date have included designers, musicians, artists, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, hoteliers, academics and celebrity activists.
